Terms of Use

These Terms explain the rights, responsibilities, and important limitations that apply when you use Wiser Locker.

These Terms of Use (the Terms) govern your download, installation, access to, and use of the Wiser Locker mobile application (the App) published by ForgerWise. Please read them carefully. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

  • Wiser Locker is intended solely for lawful personal privacy and security. ForgerWise strongly opposes and prohibits any unlawful, abusive, infringing, or harmful use of the App.
  • You are responsible for how you use the App and for the content you import, store, export, or share.
  • Your Vault is local-first. You are responsible for your passwords, device security, decrypted exports, and independent backups.
  • Security and privacy features reduce certain risks but cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality, data recovery, or personal safety.
  • Bronze and Silver memberships, when available through Google Play, are recurring subscriptions with no free trial. Prices, billing periods, renewal, cancellation, and refund details are shown by Google Play.
  • These Terms do not remove consumer rights or other protections that applicable law does not allow ForgerWise to exclude.

1. Acceptance and scope

These Terms apply to the App and to App-connected features operated for Wiser Locker. The Wiser Locker Privacy Policy, available from Help & Support in the App, explains how information is processed and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

App stores, operating systems, device manufacturers, storage providers, email providers, and other third parties may impose separate terms. You must comply with those terms when they apply. If an applicable app-store license term conflicts with these Terms, the mandatory app-store term controls to the extent of the conflict.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Wiser Locker. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you may use the App only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

You may not use the App if doing so is prohibited by applicable law or if you do not have the legal capacity or authority required to accept these Terms.

3. Local-first service and current functionality

Wiser Locker is a local-first privacy and security application. Vault files, App-managed metadata, credentials, and related local state are stored and processed on your device except for the limited network activities described in the Privacy Policy.

The current release does not provide a Wiser Locker account or general cloud synchronization service. References to possible future features, tiers, services, or availability are informational only and do not create a promise that ForgerWise will release or continue them.

You are responsible for confirming that the App is suitable for your needs and that your device, operating system, storage, permissions, and app-store region support the features you intend to use.

4. Limited license

Subject to these Terms and applicable app-store rules, ForgerWise grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the App on devices that you own or control for lawful personal use.

The App is licensed, not sold. Except where applicable law expressly permits it, you may not copy, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, extract, modify, create derivative works from, or attempt to obtain the App’s source code, protected assets, security material, or non-public service interfaces.

Open-source components remain subject to their applicable licenses, which are available through the App’s License page or the relevant project documentation.

5. Your content and rights

You retain any rights you already hold in files and other content that you process with Wiser Locker. ForgerWise does not claim ownership of your Vault content merely because you use the App.

You represent that you have all rights, permissions, and lawful authority required to import, possess, encrypt, decrypt, export, share, delete, or otherwise process your content. You are responsible for your content, the people with whom you share it, and the consequences of processing it.

Because Vault content ordinarily remains on your device, ForgerWise does not monitor, approve, moderate, or control that content and ordinarily cannot inspect, recover, remove, or provide it to you or another person.

6. Prohibited and unlawful use

Wiser Locker is intended solely for lawful personal privacy and security. ForgerWise strongly opposes and prohibits any unlawful, abusive, infringing, or harmful use of the App.

You must not use or attempt to use Wiser Locker to:

  • commit, facilitate, conceal, support, or encourage a crime or other unlawful act;
  • obtain, possess, import, store, encrypt, decrypt, export, distribute, or share content that is illegal, unauthorized, abusive, exploitative, or harmful;
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, contractual, or other legal rights;
  • harass, threaten, exploit, abuse, stalk, defraud, or harm another person, or retain or distribute illegal abuse material;
  • access another person’s device, account, system, communications, or data without lawful authorization;
  • create, store, deliver, or conceal malware, malicious code, stolen credentials, or tools intended to compromise another person or system;
  • interfere with the App or connected services, or bypass membership, app-store, integrity, entitlement, access, or security controls;
  • misrepresent your identity or authority in connection with support, billing, public recognition, or legal requests; or
  • evade a legal obligation, valid court order, lawful investigation, or other binding requirement.

ForgerWise does not authorize, direct, control, endorse, or assume responsibility for unlawful use of Wiser Locker. You are solely responsible for violations of law, third-party rights, or these Terms arising from your conduct or content, and for the resulting claims, investigations, penalties, losses, or damages.

This allocation of responsibility applies to consequences caused by your unlawful conduct or content. It does not exclude responsibility for ForgerWise’s own breach, fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any responsibility that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

ForgerWise may restrict access to App-connected network services or take other reasonable action when required by law, necessary to protect users or services, or reasonably related to suspected abuse. Nothing in these Terms implies that ForgerWise can remotely inspect, delete, recover, or provide Vault content that exists only on your device.

7. Passwords, devices, backups, and exports

You are responsible for choosing and protecting your Wiser Locker password, backup passwords, device passcode, biometric access, and any other credentials. Do not share them with anyone who should not have access.

ForgerWise cannot recover a forgotten Wiser Locker password or backup password, decrypt a protected Vault or .wlz backup without the required credential, or restore local information that has been deleted or lost without a usable backup.

You are responsible for maintaining independent backups appropriate to the importance of your files and for confirming that backups can be accessed when needed. A backup stored on the same device may be lost together with the device.

Files that you decrypt, export, share, or save outside the Vault are no longer protected by Wiser Locker’s Vault encryption. They may be accessible to other applications, people, storage providers, synchronization services, or device backups.

8. Destructive and irreversible actions

Certain actions may be destructive or irreversible, including permanent deletion, emptying Trash, Reset App, uninstalling the App, removing originals after a verified import, deleting backups, and activating a configured duress response.

You are responsible for reviewing confirmations and settings before authorizing these actions. A duress response may begin immediately without a cancellation countdown. Reset App and uninstalling may remove App-managed local data but do not necessarily remove backups, exports, shared copies, or files stored outside App-managed locations.

Deletion cannot guarantee that every physical storage cell, operating-system snapshot, provider copy, or external backup is immediately overwritten. Conversely, ForgerWise cannot guarantee recovery after the App has removed its managed copy and related records.

9. Security features and important limitations

Wiser Locker uses measures intended to protect App-managed information, but no security system is perfect. Encryption, biometric unlock, discreet access, hidden content, duress responses, security logs, screenshot controls, background logout, and related features reduce particular risks; they do not guarantee absolute confidentiality, successful concealment, uninterrupted access, data recovery, or personal safety.

Wiser Locker is not an emergency, rescue, monitoring, law-enforcement, legal-compliance, or personal-safety service. Do not rely on the App as your only protection against immediate danger, coercion, device compromise, malware, physical access, legal seizure, data loss, or any other serious risk.

Device compromise, weak or reused passwords, unlocked exports, insecure backup locations, malicious software, operating-system vulnerabilities, screen capture outside the App’s control, and loss of the device can reduce protection.

10. Bronze and Silver memberships

When offered through Google Play, Wiser Locker Bronze and Silver are automatically renewing subscriptions available with monthly or annual billing periods. The current offering has no free trial. The features included in each tier are those shown in the App and the Google Play purchase flow at the time of purchase. A membership does not include a future feature, such as Cloud Backup, unless that feature is expressly shown as currently available and included.

Prices, currencies, taxes, billing periods, renewal details, and any plan-change consequences are displayed by Google Play before you confirm a purchase. Google Play processes the payment. Your subscription automatically renews for the selected billing period unless you cancel it through Google Play before renewal.

You can manage or cancel a Google Play subscription from the membership area in Wiser Locker or your Google Play subscriptions account. Cancellation normally takes effect after the current paid period ends, so access generally continues until then. Immediate cancellation, refunds, partial refunds, and statutory withdrawal rights are governed by Google Play’s applicable rules and the law that applies to you.

Upgrades, downgrades, and billing-period changes are handled under the timing, proration, and confirmation terms shown by Google Play. ForgerWise does not set or promise a fixed exchange rate, tax amount, localized price, or store processing time in these Terms.

A pending, canceled, refunded, expired, unverified, or otherwise invalid purchase does not grant or continue paid entitlements. Wiser Locker may require successful Google Play and server verification, and temporary offline access may expire when an entitlement can no longer be verified. Cancellation or expiration does not by itself delete your Vault data, but paid features may become unavailable. You remain responsible for managing any data or configuration associated with a paid feature before access ends.

11. Third-party services and terms

The App may interact with Google Play, Firebase, platform integrity services, operating-system services, file or media pickers, storage providers, email applications, websites, and the Wiser Locker Special Thanks data endpoint. Those services are operated by third parties and may collect information, change availability, or impose their own terms and privacy practices.

ForgerWise is responsible for its own App and App-connected services, but does not control a third party’s independent service, store decision, network, device, operating system, or policy. Nothing in this section removes rights or remedies you have against ForgerWise under applicable law for ForgerWise’s own obligations.

12. Intellectual property

Wiser Locker, ForgerWise, the App design, branding, original text, graphics, and other App materials are owned by or licensed to ForgerWise and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you.

You may provide feedback voluntarily. Unless you and ForgerWise agree otherwise in writing, ForgerWise may use general feedback to improve Wiser Locker without identifying you or claiming ownership of your Vault content.

13. Updates, changes, and availability

ForgerWise may provide updates, security fixes, compatibility changes, new features, or removals. Some updates may be required for continued compatibility, security, membership verification, or access to App-connected services.

ForgerWise does not promise that every feature will remain available forever, work on every device, or remain compatible with an unsupported operating system. Where reasonably possible, material changes affecting paid functionality will be communicated in an appropriate manner and handled consistently with applicable law and app-store requirements.

14. Privacy

The Wiser Locker Privacy Policy describes information processed on your device, limited information transmitted outside your device, optional Analytics, Firebase security services, Special Thanks, retention, choices, and contact options.

These Terms do not convert an optional privacy consent into consent. Where the App requests a separate choice, such as optional usage Analytics, that choice remains separate from acceptance of these Terms.

15. Disclaimers, responsibility, and consumer rights

Wiser Locker is provided as a privacy and security tool, not as a guarantee that information can never be accessed, disclosed, corrupted, deleted, or lost. ForgerWise does not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, successful recovery, compatibility with every file or device, or protection against every technical, legal, or physical risk.

You are responsible for losses and claims caused by your unlawful use, your content, your breach of these Terms, credentials you fail to protect, or destructive actions you authorize. ForgerWise is not responsible for those user-caused consequences merely because Wiser Locker was used as a tool.

ForgerWise remains responsible for its own contractual obligations and for liability that applicable law does not permit it to exclude. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot lawfully be limited, or mandatory consumer rights and remedies.

Where applicable law permits a particular category of loss to be limited, ForgerWise is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable from its own breach. This limitation does not apply where applicable law requires a different result.

16. Suspension, termination, and disputes

Your license under these Terms ends if you materially breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Ending use or uninstalling the App does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription; you must cancel the subscription through Google Play.

ForgerWise may restrict App-connected services for unlawful use, material abuse, security protection, or legal compliance. Because Wiser Locker is local-first, restricting a connected service does not mean that ForgerWise can remotely access or erase a local Vault.

Before starting a formal dispute, you and ForgerWise should make a reasonable effort to resolve it by contacting the other party, unless urgent relief or applicable law makes that inappropriate. These Terms do not select an exclusive governing law or court. Any dispute may be brought before a court or authority that has jurisdiction under applicable law, and mandatory consumer protections remain available.

17. Changes to these Terms, contact, and language

ForgerWise may update these Terms when the App, memberships, connected services, legal requirements, or business practices change. The updated Terms will show a new effective or last-updated date and will be made available in the App. Material changes will be communicated in a manner appropriate to the change and applicable law.

These English Terms are the canonical version for the current release. Translations may be provided later for convenience. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version controls to the extent permitted by applicable law.
